Community Service Highlights

The Service & Outreach ministry encompasses everything from collecting supplies for students in need to our homeless shelter outreach programs. We also host community dinners as well as other campaigns under the ELCA, such as supporting needs at Lutheran Social Services. Breaking Bread at Bethel

Community meals -- The 2nd Saturday every month in Lockbourne "drive-thru" style. The 3rd Saturday every month in Grove City "drive-thru" style and in church dining.

Faith Mission

Feeding the homeless at Faith Mission Shelter.

Collection of School Kits

Collecting school items for bags which are donated to Lutheran World Relief.

Dinner at Y Family Center

Feeding families in need at the YWCA Family Center,

God's Work, Our Hands

Members will be doing projects such as yard work and painting for community members and participants of the Breaking Bread at Bethel community dinner.

Thanksgiving Bags

Grocery bags are filled with items needed for a Thanksgiving meal and given to the LSS Westside Food Pantry.

Walk for Alzheimers

A drive to fund walkers in the Columbus Walk to Cure Alzheimers. Participants donate and or walk at the event.

Grove City Food Pantry

We encourage members to make generous donations to the Grove City Food Pantry.

Building a Tool Shed

In collaboration with the high school youth's mission trip, we are collecting tools to build a community tool shed in the neighborhood they will be working this summer.

Souper Bowl Sunday

More food is consumed on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year - even more than Thanksgiving and Christmas! Each year, the youth of the ELCA collect change at each service to provide to families facing hunger.

Personal Hygiene & Snack Bags

We will be collecting items for Take it to the Streets. The items will be used to make personal hygiene/snack bags which the youth will take at the end of February to two locations for homeless people.
